Maryam was born and raised in the tiny desert country of Kuwait. At 18, she moved to Cairo, Egypt to major-hop (and minor-hop) at university and settle on a Psychology BA. Other important events that unfolded during this time-period: an obsession with Sinai, an overcoming of her fear of water by earning two PADI certificates, and various jobs as a writer, photographer, and editor. After a 7 year stint in Cairo, she moved to Chicago to attend a one-year portfolio school in Advertising. Currently she’s soaking up ideas, words, art, and experiences, and suiting up/prepping an artillery for her next adventure.
